My current research involves project-based learning and content-based instruction. I designed and am currently teaching a science English lab for first year engineering students at a Kochi University of Technology (KUT) in Japan. The KUT science lab is unique in that it combines the teaching of English language skills with science content and hands-on project work. Students learn in groups while completing four projects during this 2-month course.
Student projects involve media creation, scientific measurement and estimation, database manipulation, and renewable energy discovery. The science themes focus on our environment and are divided into four areas: Our Lifestyles, Our Actions, Our Impact, & Our Solutions.
